Start a SIP

Here is what happens next

Starting a SIP with Trustner takes three steps and about fifteen minutes the first time. Read this once, then continue to the investing app, or talk to our desk on WhatsApp first.

The three steps
Step 1

Verify your mobile and PAN

On Trustner’s investing app, enter your mobile number and PAN. An OTP confirms it is you. If you have invested in mutual funds before, your KYC record is found here.

2 minutes

Step 2

Complete KYC if you are new

First-time investors complete a one-time KYC on the app. Keep these ready: PAN card, Aadhaar, a bank proof (cancelled cheque or statement) and a selfie.

About 10 minutes

Step 3

Pick funds, set the date and mandate

Choose funds with your Relationship Manager or from the Trustner Selected Funds list, set the monthly SIP date and approve a bank mandate once. The SIP then runs on its own.

5 minutes

What it costs

No fee from you. Trustner is paid by the fund house.

Your SIP goes into the Regular plan of each scheme, Growth option. The fund house pays Trustner a trail commission out of the scheme's expense ratio for as long as you stay invested. There is no account-opening charge, no platform fee and nothing to pay for a conversation with your Relationship Manager.

The rates differ by fund house and category and are published, so you can see exactly what we earn on each scheme.

Common questions

Before you start

What is the minimum SIP amount?

Most schemes accept a SIP from ₹500 a month; a few start at ₹100 or ₹1,000. You can run more than one SIP and raise the amount whenever you like.

Can I stop or pause a SIP anytime?

Yes. A SIP is not a lock-in. You can pause, stop or change the amount from the app or by asking your Relationship Manager. Open-ended schemes let you redeem too, subject to any exit load and tax that applies. ELSS (tax-saving) schemes carry a 3-year lock-in on each instalment.

Is my money held with Trustner?

No. Your money goes straight from your bank to the mutual fund scheme and is held with the fund house and its registrar (CAMS or KFintech) in your name. Trustner is the AMFI-registered distributor (ARN-286886) and never holds client money.

I already have KYC. Do I need to do it again?

No. KYC is a one-time exercise across SEBI-registered intermediaries. If your KYC is already verified, the app picks it up from your PAN and you move straight to choosing funds. If it is on hold (for example, an old address proof), the app shows what needs updating.
